Mark Twain Masonic Awareness Award

For those Brethren of Temple Lodge No. 6 who may not already know, our Lodge has been entered into the 2009 Mark Twain Masonic Awareness Award competition. This national recognition award was introduced at the 2006 Conference of Grand Masters of Masonry in North America by the Masonic Information Center (MIC) and the first award winners were introduced in 2007.

In order for a Lodge to win the Mark Twain Masonic Awareness Award it must demonstrate it’s commitment to energy, innovation and creativity toward achieving the objective of moving Masonry into the 21st century. This is accomplished by providing a submission packet to the Masonic Information Center with evidence of activities that clarify and communicate Masonic identity.

Our entry, along with several others from across the country will be judged by the MIC Task Force. Lodges will be contacted by the MIC if they are named a winner of the Mark Twain Masonic Awareness Award, and they will be announced in February at the 2010 Conference of Grand Masters, in Arlington, VA.

If you would like to review a copy of our entry submission for the Mark Twain Masonic Awareness Award, then please visit WB F. Dale Smith at the Lodge.

Our Newest Past Master - Nate Calloway

Temple Lodge 6 held its 2010 Installation of Officers Ceremony yesterday, and it’s always exciting to celebrate the occasion with our newly installed Lodge Officers. But we would be remiss not to take a moment to celebrate another part of this occasion – the efforts of our newest Past Master (PM) throughout the previous year.

It is important to note that the responsibility of Worshipful Master (WM) to govern a Lodge of Masons during his year of service is a very serious commitment. It’s literally like having a second job during the year and simply put - it’s a lot of hard work! If being WM is tough during one year, imagine having to do it for almost two. Well, that’s exactly what WB Nate Calloway was asked to do by the Brethren of this Lodge, and he did so with pride and dedication from start to finish.

Temple 6 would like to take this moment to thank WB Nate for all of his hard work, time and service to our Lodge as WM over the past two years. The Brethren look forward to seeing him on the “sidelines” in 2010 touting his new PM Apron.

2010 Officer Installation - Temple 6

The Installation of Lodge Officers Ceremony for Temple Lodge No. 6 was held on Saturday, December 26th, 2009 before a large audience of Brethren, family, and friends who came together from around New Mexico and other States to celebrate this event. Lodge was opened in form one last time by WB Nate Calloway before going to refreshment for preparation for the installation of 2010 Lodge Officers.

The installation of elected and appointed officers (13 in all) was a wonderful event to see. After our newly installed officers were at their proper places and stations; WB Chris Larsen offered introductions of visiting Brethren and remarks as our newly installed Worshipful Master. WB Larsen then presented gifts of appreciation to the 2010 Installation Team for their efforts during this special event. The Installation Ceremony ended with a presentation of the Past Master (PM) Apron to WB Nate Calloway by RWB Josh Lightle, who appointed WB Calloway to the Temple 6 Officer Line during his year as Master in 2004. The presentation of the PM Apron to the outgoing Master is a long standing tradition among Past Masters of Temple Lodge 6.
