Ashlar Assembly 58 is supporting the 2010 Alzhiemer's Memory Walk within the Albuquerque area on Saturday, June 5th, starting at 7:00 am. This event is being hosted at the Henry E. Kinney Civic Plaza (map), and will consist of a 1K (.62 mi), 3K (1.86 mi), and 5K (3.11 mi) walking distance.
Memory Walk is the single largest fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association, both locally and nationally. The New Mexico Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association offers educational programs and trainings around the state, caregiver respite assistance program, a free quarterly newsletter, and a toll free helpline. In addition, the association assists with registration in the Safe Return Program for patients who wander, act as a legislative advocacy body for patient rights, and maintains a network of more than 40 support groups statewide. All of these services are provided confidentially and free of charge.
This is a worth while event and our support this Saturday would be greatly appreciated by Ashlar Assembly 58 and their Mother Advisor Patty Campbell.
