Brethren,As an update to the funeral services for Brother Jack Garrett on Wednesday, March 30th at 11 a.m. at Temple Lodge 6 (map); many requests have been made concerning where to send flowers for Brother Garrett’s memorial service. RWB Jefferson Jordan has spoken with the family and they request donations be made in Jack’s name to the Ballut Abyad Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund in lieu of flowers for his memorial service.
The monies in this transportation fund are held strictly for the transportation of children and their accompanying parent to a Shrine Hospital or to one of the Shrine Mini Clinics held in Albuquerque and Hobbs. This fund also helps to operate the Shrine Hospital's Telemedicine Clinic - where patients enrolled in this program are examined by Los Angeles Doctors over the Internet. This transportation fund not only saves the Shrine many thousands of dollars each year, but it saves patients and their families the wear and tear of long distance travel by hosting examinations in Albuquerque and Hobbs instead of flying to Los Angeles or Salt Lake City.
Your donations would be a fitting tribute to the memory of Brother Jack, as he was most willing to do things for others - instead of receiving services for himself.
